About Us
The International Center for Media Studies was founded in 2008 by the Far East Broadcasting Company (FEBC). It is headquartered with FEBC in La Mirada, California. The Center sponsors this journal and publishes white papers and monographs on issues in the two-thirds world, especially as they relate to the development of communications technologies. It is governed by an advisory board and collaborates with the Media Research Institute (MRI), directed by Robert Fortner in Grand Rapids, Michigan. MRI specializes in audience, ethnographic, focus group, and content analytic work in the two-thirds world, especially in communication. It seeks to assist non-profit and charitable organizations doing work in the countries of the two-thirds world to be more effective and efficient to enhance their positive impacts on people's lives. Both ICMS and MRI are non-profit organizations.
